Guided by the Founder’s vision

Born with the sole purpose of serving the Indian consumer in smaller towns, primarily in the state of Maharashtra, late Shri Ramesh Marfatia launched M/s. Sapphire Pharma India on April 1, 1992.

With a successful long stint with Glaxo, the global leader in medicines, Shri Ramesh Marfatia set off on his journey to manufacture and market various allopathy medicines under his own brand, M/s. Sapphire Pharma India. Having traversed the interiors of Maharashtra, he knew the medical infrastructure and the potential that these markets offered.

The company manufactures and sells various drugs including anti-diarrheal, anti-cold, anti-asthmatic, anti-spasmodic, anti-vomiting, anti-acidic, anti-fever and anti-cough formulations to those treating eczema and psoriasis.

Today, Efectal suspension, Apitone syrup, Sneezy suspension, Klobat, Duovent and Sapridom are few of the many well-recognised brands from the Sapphire stable.

Our quality medicines and close to three decades of dedicated service have earned us the trust of doctors, chemists, stockists and consumers across the state of Maharashtra.

Ammishi M Desai, Managing Partner

Partner in M/s. Sapphire Pharma India, Ammishi has donned multiple hats. Starting her career with events and consumer engagement, she worked in a global ad agency Publicis, where she led the celebrity endorsement vertical. From being a homemaker, she is now an entrepreneur, at the helm of the affairs of her family business, M/s. Sapphire Pharma India. A commerce graduate, Ammishi also holds a Diploma in Event Management and has been successful in every endeavour she has undertaken. She leads the organisation, its profitability and its smooth operations.

Meehiir Desai, Managing Partner

A senior management professional with over 18 years of strong experience across sales, marketing, digital & media management, Meehiir has worked with global & national brands like The Times of India, HDFC Bank, Sony, CNBC, amongst others. An MBA in Marketing, Meehiir specialises in launching and growing brands, product penetrations and revenue enhancement. He contributed significantly in the business resurgence during the pandemic and while he continues to be a partner in the company, he is now focused on his professional endeavours outside of M/s. Sapphire Pharma India.
